New Energy Applications Are Reshaping Core Demand

PV inverters, energy storage and charging piles need more current sensing cores, with tighter temperature and size requirements.
Traditional metering demand remains stable, but the fastest growing segment for current sensing cores is new energy equipment. A single PV inverter or storage converter may use several CT cores for phase current, leakage detection and insulation monitoring.
These applications impose different requirements from indoor meters. Ambient temperature inside an enclosure is higher, vibration is more common, and the physical space for the core is smaller. That pushes designs toward nanocrystalline with potted encapsulation and reinforced cases.
Charging infrastructure adds another dimension: split core assemblies for retrofit installations, where gap consistency directly determines measurement repeatability.
We have expanded the potted case and split core options in the standard range to serve these projects, and our engineering team can review enclosure constraints before the core is tooled.
